Congratulations to Nestlé Hungária on the inauguration of the new production units at its PURINA pet food factory in Bük, marking the completion of a five-year, HUF 193 billion investment programme.
The development includes three new production units and a fully automated high-bay warehouse, increasing the factory’s annual production capacity to around 500,000 tonnes. The investment has also created 390 new jobs, bringing the number of employees at the Bük site to around 1,800. The Bük site, Nestlé’s Central and Eastern European hub for PURINA pet food production, manufactures both dry and wet food for cats and dogs, with around 95% of its production exported to international markets.
The inauguration ceremony was addressed by Peter Noszek, Managing Director of Nestlé Hungária and Vice President of Swisscham Hungary; Sándor Németh, Mayor of Bük; Istvan Kapitany, Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy; and Péter Magyar, Prime Minister of Hungary.
A memorable highlight of the event was launch of the new production line with the help of a robot dog – a fitting symbol of the advanced automation and technology behind the PURINA factory.
We were delighted to celebrate this important milestone together with H.E. Alexander Renggli, Ambassador of Switzerland to Hungary, Daniel Cavegn and Robert Kattein Julia Lipovecz.
Nestlé’s continued investment in Bük is a strong example of the long-term commitment of Swiss companies to Hungary – bringing together investment, advanced technology, innovation and employment.
Congratulations to Péter Noszek Tanja Žigić and the entire Nestlé Hungária team on this remarkable achievement!
