Report
“What Makes a Strong Currency? The Secret of the Swiss Franc” was the topic of today’s event hosted by the Embassy of Switzerland in Hungary in partnership with Corvinus University of Budapest and Swisscham Hungary Swiss-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, followed by a high level working lunch at the Swiss Residence.
Dr. Costa Vayenas presented his book ‘The Swiss Franc 1798–2055’, after which a conversation took place with Prof. Dr. Péter Ákos Bod and Ambassador Alexander Renggli on the historical and economic foundations behind the long-term strength and stability of the Swiss franc.
The exchange also touched on today’s complex global environment, including the impact of multiple ongoing crises on currencies, reflections on the future of money, and the investment relationship between Switzerland and Hungary.
Thank you to all participants for the engaging discussion and valuable insights.
